Minor & Major Indictable Offences
Offences that carry a sentence of imprisonment of greater than two years are divided into Minor and Major Indictable Offences.
Negotiations with Prosecution can often result in the charges being changed significantly with the result that the seriousness of any crime can be reduced to a large extent, depending on the facts and circumstances. It is often the case that when charges are made, not all of the facts and circumstances are know to Prosecution. Once that further information is provided, Prosecution is often willing to enter into negotiations to vary the charges and often, to reduce their severity.
